In this week’s #ICYMI we look at the latest changes on Facebook that will work in advertisers’ favour as well as Hootsuite’s exclusive integration with BBM Channels.
1. Facebook recently announced the launch of Atlas, a former Microsoft property that Facebook bought last year and was “completely rebuilt to tackle present day marketing challenges.” Atlas produces people-based marketing, helping brands reach people across devices, platforms and publishers.
A huge benefit Atlas offers is the ability to connect online campaigns to offline sales — a great feature for brands as they will be able to demonstrate the value and success of online marketing campaigns. Facebook will use the information it gathers from users to assist Atlas in delivering targeted advertisements on non-Facebook sites. So far, Instagram is enabled with Atlas, allowing the platform to measure and verify ad impressions. There are rumours that Twitter is also considering a partnership…stay tuned for updates.
2. Hootsuite has announced an exclusive integration with BBM Channels. Brands want to engage consumers within the messaging applications people use daily. The new BBM Channels app for Hootsuite will allow social media, community, and marketing managers to do exactly this. This new app will enable brand managers to be more efficient in their interaction with consumers while driving greater community engagement. Not only will BBM Channels make it easier for brand managers to engage with consumers, it will allow them to share Twitter and Facebook content on BBM channels quickly and easily. The app is free for existing Hootsuite users and BBM Channel owners.
If your brand is looking for a quick and effective way to reach a larger audience and become more efficient while engaging with your social network, set up your BBM Channel on Hootsuite now.
